This is one of the works that were developed for the cause of the concept to
"make works associated with Odawara and Hakone". The motif is "the Odawara
Lantern" which has been used for a long time in the Odawara area. It isn’t

interestingly. You can use it as an accessory case.

It was created as an Xmas Present for 2006. You can see a spade on the box.
But, you might think a heart mark is more suitable for “fortune” rather than
spade. The motion is simple. But the mechanism is complex. The designer had
been a trick box craftsman, not a Yosegi (inlay) craftsman. But this time,
he tried Yosegi works for the first time. He was given advice by Yoshiyuki
Ninomiya.

This work is composed of three parts; the lower box, the top heart and the
3-leaf clover with three hearts. The lower part does not open freely and the
top heart looks a bit lonely. In the middle, the 3-leaf clover composed of 3
hearts is the same as the heart on top. Maybe people who are quick to
understand have already noticed the answer. But can you move the devices as
you think? I hope your own “Chance Meeting” will come to you soon!
